What a boredom! In the video published on @ValorosoIT, I turn on and test 14 vintage laptops, 80s, 90s and 2000 - received as a gift or purchased in various lots.

The goal is simple (but long): see if they start, what an operating system they load, if the hard disk turns again and how "angry" they are due to the cos battery download.

Some work, others arrange, one whistle, different have discs or monitors put badly. In several cases I have used my adjustable universal Chinese power supply, in which you can choose the most suitable connector to the laptop, and then set the correct voltage and power the computer.

Here are the vintage laptops that I tested.

- Epson Q150A, late 80s, Intel 8088, 600 KB RAM. Power supply: 15 V, central positive, supplied with adjustable Chinese power supply. Error 161 (Download internal battery), but the computer, after a while, starts. Start MS-DOS.

- Toshiba T3100E, a vintage portable PC of the late 80s, Intel 286 processor Then he starts with MS-DOS.

- Dell Latitude C840, early 2000s, Intel Pentium 4, HDD 30 GB. In the video there are two specimens: the first starts Windows 2000, in a reduced part of the screen, and shows vertical lines on the screen (to be understood if video card or driver). The second indicates that there is no start device because the hard disk is broken.

- Compaq LTE 5400, vintage portable PC of the late 90s, Intel Pentium 150 MHz, 32 MB RAM, HDD 2 GB. It starts with Windows 98 after initial uncertainties.

- Compaq Cting Aero 4/25, mid -90s, Intel 486 at 25 MHz, external floppy, original power supply. The monitor is ruined and the hard disk makes not very reassuring noises. It will not start.

- Digital TS30G, mid -90s, Intel Pentium Mmx 133 MHz, 32 MB RAM, HDD 1.5 GB (detected after various attempts), but is freezing in the start phase; It probably serves to reinstall the operating system. It has some damaged plastic parts.

-Siemens Nixdorf PCD-5nd, 1995, Intel Pentium 75 MHz, 16 MB RAM (increase compared to the 8 MB expected), HDD 500 MB. Start Windows 95, but the screen has a band of burned pixels. No login: the password is unknown.

- IBM ThinkPad 390E (2626), late 90s, Intel Pentium II 300 MHz, 192 MB RAM, Windows 98. It works ... but initially whistled (probable larsen effect between speakers and microphone). Problem solved.

- Dell Latitude C500 (PP01L), early 2000s, Intel Celeron 900 MHz, 192 MB RAM, HDD 10 GB, Windows XP. Slow to enter the setup, because it did not detect the CD player, but in the end he left regularly.

- IBM ThinkPad R40E, year 2004, Intel Celeron, 1 GB RAM. I recently bought it from Spain, has an international keyboard. He continually asks for date/hour and configuration (exhausted CMOS battery), but, in the end, loads Windows XP.

- Apple Macintosh Powerbook 170, vintage laptop of 1991, Motorola 68030 processor. 7.5 V power supply with the usual adjustable Chinese power supply. It shows signs of life, but does not complete the start (suspicion hard disk blocked). Even inserting a disk, it does not start. What a struggle to get the disk with the computer blocked!

- Veridata Xtra Pro 486s/33, early 90s, Intel 486sx at 33 MHz. It is a computer of mine that I used away, is rotten! The power supply does not work. To be reacked in the future, fueling the right feet of the power supply, since it does not have a round connector compatible with the adjustable universal power supply.
