This is the second article I write about online scams: Fortinte account sales scam. In the first article I've covered email scams and purchases on listing sites, such as Facebook Marketplace, Subito, Kijiji, eBay, and others.

But how does the Fortinte account sale scam work? And how not to fall for it?
On platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and others, it's easy to find videos of people selling accounts for Fortnite and other online games, like Minecraft, Clash Royale, and Brawl Stars, for example.
Why would anyone buy an account for these games? The answer is simple: some accounts contain interesting, rare, and hard-to-get characters.
Tuttavia, è importante sottolineare che l'acquisto di account viola i termini e le condizioni dei produttori dei giochi, pertanto è un'operazione che non dovrebbe essere fatta.
Despite this, there are many people willing to buy the accounts. And many other people, scammers, take advantage of this situation. Let's see together the most common scams, like the one that just happened: the Fortinte account sale scam.
Here's how they scam you
A guy contacts an account seller on TikTok: @vendoaccountfortniteog77. Of course, the seller could also be called something else. The seller promptly answers all questions and reassures the unwitting young buyer.

However, payment can only be made with methods that do not provide for any type of refund in case of problems, such as PayPal friends, PostePay recharge, Amazon gift cards, etc.
L'acquirente, ignaro della truffa, effettua il pagamento concordato, ad esempio 20 euro, tramite PayPal amici al venditore, che si presenta come Youssef Halik, e-mail berrybrfn@gmail.com. Anche se il nome e la mail che avete sono diverse, potrebbe comunque essere un truffatore.
As soon as the money is sent to the seller, he pretends not to have received it, otherwise the bot would have sent the login credentials to the game.
The seller then advises to make a second payment, promising that the first payment will be refunded, according to him, if it ever arrives.
In realtà, l'intento del venditore è proprio quello di truffare l'acquirente più volte, cercando di ottenere il maggior denaro possibile.
L'account di Fortnite, Minecraft, Clash Royale o Brawl Stars non verrà mai consegnato e il venditore scomparirà con scuse varie.
Un'altra truffa vendita account Fortinte, o altri giochi, potrebbe comportare la consegna di un account funzionante. Successivamente alla vendita, il venditore lo richiamerà, affermando che il suo account è stato rubato. In questo modo, il produttore del gioco fornirebbe le credenziali a colui che le ha create, rendendo inutile qualsiasi tentativo di cambiare la password.
