In tanti mi avete chiesto com'è andata a finire la controversia su eBay, relativa al Commodore Plus/4, arrivato difettoso, che vi ho mostrato nello last video.
The situation went very well and, in this article, I will explain to you in all the details. For those who have not seen the last video, I summarize the situation.
Buying the Commodore Plus/4 on eBay
Avevo visto un Commodore Plus/4 su eBay da un venditore inglese. Il computer mi piaceva abbastanza: aveva delle piccole macchie sulla tastiera, ma erano cose di poco conto. Il retro computer era dichiarato come "testato e funzionante".
Il venditore aveva accettato una mia proposta d'acquisto e quindi aveva scontato un po’ il prezzo. Ad ogni modo, tra trasporto e tasse d'importazione dall’Inghilterra, avevo speso altri soldi. Insomma, non era non era propriamente economico però, per un Commodore Plus/4 testato e funzionante, il prezzo ne valeva la pena.

Altri si scagliavano contro il venditore, sostenendo che il computer fosse già difettoso quando l'ha spedito. Il dubbio io ce l'ho, sinceramente, anche perché il venditore non è mai riuscito a inviare delle foto con il computer acceso.
Ho deciso di aprire la contestazione su eBay, in maniera piuttosto gentile e delicata, non accusando nessuno. Adesso vi mostro tutto l'elenco dei messaggi, così potete controllare voi stessi che io non abbia insultato assolutamente nessuno!

eBay Dispute Details
And here is the detail of the texts of the controversy on eBay.
Io: “Buongiorno, sono veramente triste di informarti che il computer non funziona ho provato a collegarlo all'alimentazione e alla televisione, ma, anche se la luce rossa si accende, l'immagine non viene mostrata sul televisore. Io, veramente, mi aspettavo un computer funzionante perché avevi scritto Testato e Funzionante, ma non lo è. Mi aspetto un rimborso, in modo da provare ad aggiustare il computer, se possibile. Grazie e distinti saluti, Amedeo”.
In short, they message quite quietly, no insults. It simply tells what is the reality of the facts, which you have also noticed in the video of unboxing and try.
The seller, at this point, replied: "It was fully functional before shipping it. Fully tested. I suspect that the damage may be caused by transportation. Let me check, I assure you that you will be fully rewarded."
Somehow, the seller reassured me. If the computer does not work, it refunds me. Perfect! Better this way! I answer him, thanking him. Moreover, he did not even but he said goodbye. He wrote the sentence directly, thus, without pleasantries.
Me: "Good morning. I look forward to your research. Let me know, I am very sad about this Commodore. I, really, expected it to be working. Let me know as soon as possible. Greetings, Amedeo."
So, even in this case, as you can see, I behaved in a polite way. In fact, many of you have told me: "eh, but, maybe it's not his fault, maybe he sent it working".
The seller, at this point, writes to me without even greeting: "would you accept a partial refund?"
Ho smesso anch'io di salutarlo, a questo punto. “Dipende dall'ammontare del rimborso”, gli ho detto, “considera anche che io speso un po’ di soldini con trasporto e tasse d'importazione e ora mi trovo un computer che non funziona. Fammi sapere.”
Basta, da questo punto in poi il venditore non si è più fatto vivo. Dopo un paio di giorni gli ho scritto, sollecitando la sua offerta di rimborso. Dopo altri due giorni, quindi ne sono passati 4 dall'ultimo messaggio del venditore, ho cominciato a preoccuparmi. Insomma, non mi risponde più. Prima mi dice che mi rimborsa e poi sparisce.
I wrote to him: "Hello, are there any problems? I haven't received anything from you yet." In short, at this point I begin to get impatient.
Guess what? The seller opens a case against me! Chiede ad eBay di intervenire e scrive: “L'oggetto era completamente funzionante, testato e in buone condizioni, quando l'ho spedito al centro di smistamento. Il danneggiamento può essere stato causato dal trasporto”.
Certo, lui può anche aver ragione che il prodotto è stato danneggiato dal trasporto, però io l'ho ricevuto rotto. A questo punto ci siamo rimessi alla decisione di eBay.
Response to the dispute over eBay
Dopo un po’ di tempo, mi è arrivata l'email, comunicandomi che la decisione era stata presa e che eBay aveva deciso di rimborsarmi completamente.
In fact, in the summary of the eBay dispute, you see that I have been fully refunded: both the total of the computer and the shipping costs, and the import costs. A refund that covers, therefore, the total of what I had spent, without even having to send the computer back!
D’altro canto, mi sono anche un po’ messo nei panni del venditore. Io sono in buona fede: l'avete visto anche voi, nel video, che computer non funziona. Ma, supponiamo che veramente lui l'abbia spedito funzionante. Insomma, ci avrebbe perso dei soldi! Poi, in pratica, non è stato così, perché io ho telefonato al centro d'assistenza di eBay e mi è stato spiegato che, in questo caso (in questo caso specifico) è stato proprio eBay a rimborsarmi. Quindi, il venditore è stato pagato da eBay, il trasportatore è stato pagato da eBay e io sono stato rimborsato da eBay.
In this case, eBay adopted a strategy that made me, the seller and, probably, the shipper happy too.
Tra l'altro, ho notato che il venditore ma aveva anche lasciato un feedback positivo.
