Nokia 7110

The Nokia 7110 was one of the most innovative mobile phones of its era, launched in 1999 by the Finnish company Nokia. The Nokia 7110 is known for its hideable keyboard, which hides under a sliding door when not in use: it was one of the first slider phones on the market.

It's always been in my collection, as it's my cell phone from when I was at university. Obviously, after watching the movie "The Matrix", in 1999, I wanted the mobile phone with the door with automatic snap opening. Many mistake the Nokia 7110 for Neo's mobile phone in the movie "The Matrix", precisely because it has a sliding snap door. In fact, the previous model was used in the film: the Nokia 8110.

The Nokia 7110 was one of the first mobile phones to have an integrated Internet connection, using WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) technology. This allowed users to browse simple websites and send and receive emails.

In addition, the Nokia 7110 comes with a number of pre-installed games, including the famous Snake, which helped make the phone very popular among young people. The design is elegant, with a satin metal finish and a 96 × 65 pixel monochrome LCD screen. The battery can last up to 4 hours of talk time and up to 10 days of standby time.
