Even today… sad video! I ordered on eBay a Commodore SX-64, the Commdore 64 executive: the "portable" version, to be clear. The eBay listing showed a perfect and working computer.
The only flaw, declared by the seller, is the absence of the keyboard, which I should find in another way. Given the absence of the keyboard, the computer is equipped with a Coprolite adapter to connect the keyboard of a Commodore 64.
Commodore SX-64 damaged during transport
Unfortunately… the retro computer arrived damaged! During transportation, it broke. Cosmetically, damage can be seen on the front and right side. And… it doesn't turn on!
As the seller himself suggested to me, if I received the package with scratches, holes or dents, I would have to accept it with "verification reserve", and so I did.
In fact, if you notice, in the photo, there are two small dents on the package.
When I opened the box, the surprise was bad. The front frame got inside the metal chassis, due to the bang.
In fact, if you see it from above, it is a bit crooked. It's almost a shame to buy retro computers at this point. If the couriers treat them so badly and arrive damaged, it is really a sad thing.
Also on the side the computer has some flaws. In addition to having entered the frame into the metal, the right hinge has also come off.
On the other side, everything is perfect. The problem is evident in the front of the Commodore SX64 and in the right side.
Coprolite adapter to connect the keyboard of the Commodore 64 to the SX-64
Since the retro computer Commodore SX-64, which I purchased, does not have a keyboard, the seller has included a Coprolite adapter to connect the keyboard of the Commodore 64.
The Coprolite adapter has a flat cable to connect it to the keyboard connector of the Commodore SX-64. On the printed circuit board, there is an additional connector for the keyboard of the Commodore 64.
On one side of the Coprolite adapter, you connect the keyboard of the Commodore 64, taking care to insert the connector in the correct direction, indicated by a missing pin of the connector.
On the other hand, the flat cable connects under the Commodore SX-64.
Let's test the Commodore SX-64
Unfortunately, the computer test failed. The Commodore SX-64 never turned on.
The fuse, which is located on the back of the computer, is good.
Probably, the blow that damaged the computer externally, will have also damaged it internally.
In conclusion…
And here I am, with this other disappointment. The computer, which ordered on eBay, tested and working, arrived damaged, just as it happened to me with the Commodore Plus/4.
The question is, do you think I'm unlucky?

Hello Amedeo, I understand you: some time ago, I bought the cable for the keyboard of my left 64 (110 €) I chose the insured shipping but the cable never arrived, opened the dispute on ebay but without solving anything, according to them the package was delivered, since then enough purchases on ebay.

Hello Antonio, I'm sorry for what happened. Sometimes situations happen on the verge of fraud. In the case of my Commodore SX-64, the seller is honest, so I count on resolving the situation.
